Thor 2 was awesome (Friday night)!
Saturday brought gusting winds to SE Michigan, so I spent the day pushing leaves around the back yard, mostly to clear some ground for foraging sparrows. I was rewarded w/ three Dark-eyed Juncos! Robin and I then drove over to Pt. Mouillee HQ. A flock of 200+ Red-winged Blackbirds included several dozen Rusty Blackbirds. Too far to photograph, though.
The winds continued Sunday, but I decided to walk Crosswinds Marsh, anyway. A pair of Sandhill Cranes highlighted the quiet morning that included a few dozen Ring-billed Gulls and Mute Swans on the ponds. Otherwise, very quiet. I did catch a small flock of American Tree Sparrows and Song Sparrows foraging along one of the ditches and managed a couple of digiscoped images. A pair of Eastern Bluebirds led us out of the park.
