Eastern Phoebe - 02 Jul 2017

A small flycatcher appeared near the feeders here at Brownton Abbey this evening. Luckily, I had the scope nearby, and was ready to shoot away. The cinnamon wing bars helped identify this otherwise-silent bird. Juvenile Eastern Phoebe!

Curiously, the following day at Oak Openings I would encounter another phoebe, and this time get to hear its nasally "Fee-bee" call.
